Last year, I wrote about my adventures in burlesque education. Yesterday, I returned for post-graduate study.

The class? 'Spellbinding Burlesque.' The phenomenal instructress? The lovely, talented and magical Veronica Varlow, a charmer with superb storytelling skills and a Bettie Page 'do who has toured internationally with Dita von Teese.

Fifteen students in a range of sizes and ages, including a couple of lawyers, a journalist, a fashion designer, a nurse and visitors from Boston, Atlanta and San Diego, showed up to learn how to bring their own stories to the stage, how to make it rain with their hips, and how to strut through life with confidence.

These are lessons that bear repeating. Someday, strutting through my own story, I may even learn them.
