I Get A Kick Out Of Shoes

I now own a pair of custom shoes. No, they weren't made by John Lobb, but by Bendow, a young Los Angeles artist who works in several media.

In this case the medium is ink on canvas, with fanatical attention paid to each tiny, witty drawing (click on the photo for a closeup).

The obsessive detail extends to rebranding the famous name at the back.

Even the box gets customized. The "Est. 1992" is an amusing touch.

I wore these beauties this weekend and was widely complimented.

  1. LOVE the shoes!

Bendow is the son of one of my good friends. We were pregnant together.

If you don't mind, I linked to your post via my Livejournal titled Got Art.
