Love Means Nothing

Last night, I saw Roger Federer beat Pete Sampras at Madison Square Garden. Which is like saying I saw Liszt duet with Rubinstein at Carnegie Hall.

The two virtuosi showed their stuff before a well-heeled, sold-out crowd of 19,000 that included Tiger Woods and The Donald, whose prematurely blond birds' nest of hair, even worse off camera, never ceases to amaze me.

Both players were in good form, as they should have been for a nearly $2 million joint payday financed by NetJets and Rolex. And it was fun to watch such legendary athletes up close (I sprang for good seats).

The real winner, of course? Nike.
